British Weather

International students accuse us British of always talking about the weather, and after the last 2-3 months it is obvious why that is! The second half of March and into early April the sun shone every day, barbecues were out, beaches and parks were full of sunbathers: summer had arrived! Six weeks later and we have torrential rain, the wettest April on record and May is heading the same way. Sport has been seriously disrupted in schools, I don’t think I have seen any cricket being played at all yet, pitches and golf courses are flooded! Perhaps it means it will be perfect for the Queen’s Jubilee over Half Term, when students will be staying with Host Families, and for the Olympics later in the Summer.
