Quest Guardians provides guardianship services for parents living overseas and for their sons and daughters attending boarding schools in the UK. Founded in 1994 by Sheelagh Michelmore, the business continues to be run on a personal and professional level by her son, Christopher. |
Quest Guardians aims to ensure the welfare of all the students in its care
| Parents living overseas need to know that their children are safe and well cared for, both during the school term and at times when schools are closed. During term, the prime responsibility for a student's welfare lies with the school, with Quest Guardians acting on behalf of parents when necessary in circumstances where parents are unable to do so due to distance. |
At times when the school is closed, Quest Guardians takes over this responsibility in its entirety, most notably by providing host families with whom the students live whilst the school remains closed and by arranging transport as needed. During these periods, Quest Guardians retains the role of the student's legal guardian, with the host family undertaking day to day care. |
| Our Host Families can range from a man and wife with young children to retired grandparents, whose own children have grown up. All families are regularly visited and inspected by us, are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and formerly undertake to protect and care for the students in their charge, in accordance with Quest Guardians guidelines. |
| Quest Guardians is an accredited member of both AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) and TAGS (The Association of Guardianship Services). Membership of each follows a rigorous inspection of the business and its relationships with schools, parents and students. |
